Rectal inflammation. Colonoscope (endoscope) view of inflammation and ulceration of the rectum of a 72 year-old man. 48 hours earlier the patient had inserted a 20 centimetre length of rubber hose through his anus into the rectum, which he was then unable to remove. The foreign body was removed with a snare wire.
