Prempak-C hormone replacement therapy (HRT) pills, with perfume and other items on a woman's dressing table. HRT utilizes synthetic female hormones to relieve the symptoms of either the menopause or surgical removal of the ovaries. It can also slow the loss of bone density (osteoporosis). This HRT consists of two types of pill for daily use over a 28-day period. One pill (large, purple/black) contains oestrogen hormones, and is taken daily. The other pill (small, round, brown) contains norgestrel, a synthetic progestogen hormone. This pill is taken daily from day 17 of the 28-day cycle. Prempak-C is manufactured by Wyeth Laboratories.
