Tuberous chervil roots. Edible tuberous roots from the tuberous-rooted chervil plant (Chaerophyllum bulbosum). The roots are swollen to store food for the plant, but are not true tubers. They have a high fibre content and a chestnut-type flavour. Native to eastern Europe, this plant has been cultivated in France since 1846.
