Marigold (Calendula officinalis) flower. This flower can be used medicinally in infusions for treating wounds. It has an anti- inflammatory effect, and reduces pain. It is also used to treat bee or wasp stings. Drinking an infusion of marigold flowers helps to reduce a high temperature, as it promotes perspiration. As well as these medicinal uses the flower can also be made into a colourant for butter, and marigold oil can be used as an ingredient in perfumes. The petals of the flower are edible.
