Strasbourg, France, satellite image. Strasbourg occupies the west bank of the river Rhine (down centre), which forms the border between France and Germany. On the German side is the town of Kehl. Strasbourg is an important centre for commerce and manufacturing in France. It is also the seat of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights.
