Caster oil plant (Ricinus communis). This plant is highly poisonous. The poison contained in this plant is called ricin and it is water-soluable. The oil from the seed is used in herbal medicine as a laxative. It is also used in anti-dandruff and skin treatment products. The plant is used in the treatment of headaches, boils and many skin problems. Photographed in October.
