Epidural (brain) haemorrhage. False-colour computed tomography (CT) scan showing a recent epidural haemorrhage (red oval feature at far left), the result of a ruptured blood vessel in the epidural space. The haemorrhage is occupying part of the epidural space. The close fit of the meninges causes it to compress the brain tissue to the right & cause a reduction in size of the right lateral ventricle (left on image, in blue), one of the fluid-filled chambers at the centre of the brain.
