Industrial transformer. This step-down electrical transformer was manufactured by Crompton Parkinson in 1956. It was installed to supply power to the Town Mill in Wantage, Oxfordshire. It converts 11,000 volts alternating current (AC) to 433 volts AC, supplied as 300 kVA (kilo volt-amperes) in a three-phase supply. Electric motors powering heavy rotating machinery run more smoothly with a three- phase supply.
