Madrid Barajas International Airport, Madrid, Spain. This is the interior of terminal 4. Terminal 4 was designed to give passengers a stress-free start to a journey through the careful design of its interior. It was designed by Antonio Lamela and Richard Rogers, winning them the 2006 Stirling Prize. Terminal 4 was opened to the public in February 2006. Barajas airport has the world's largest single terminal area, measuring more than one million square metres. The airport is located northeast of the Madrid city center and was opened in 1928.
