Verreaux's sifaka (Propithecus verreauxi). Native to the forests brush of Madagascar, Verreaux's sifaka is a primate in one of the lemur families, Indriidae. Although they can hop bipedally when on the ground, they are predominantly arboreal (tree- dwelling), and can leap up to 10 metres between trees. Verreaux's sifaka are prosimians, the most primitive extant primates. Photographed in Madagascar.
