A group of tourists walk along the fringe of Laguna Colorada. The distinctive red colour of this high altitude lagoon is due to the high concentration of algae whilst deposits of borax form a white fringe to the lake. Colorada is the biggest nesting site of the rare James flamingo and also hosts large concentrations of Chilean and Andean flamingos.
