At a dance in the Karo village of Duss men clap as they sing at the beginning of a dance. A small Omotic tribe related to the Hamar, the Karo live along the banks of the Omo River in southwestern Ethiopia. They are renowned for their elaborate body art using white chalk, crushed rock and other natural pigments.
