Kenya, Central Highlands, Mount Kenya, 17,058 feet high, is Africa's second highest snow-capped mountain. The plant in the foreground is a giant groundsel or tree Senecio (Senecio johnstonii ssp battiscombei), one of several plant species displaying afro-montane gigantism that flourish above 10,000 feet.
