Morocco, Anti-Atlas Mountains, Anammer (nr Igherm). A village boy stands in the main courtyard of Anammerˇs agadir, or fortified granary. Built by the Berbers to safeguard their food stores and valuables, these granaries usually had family-owned cells or cubicles accessed by palm trunk ladders.
