Himba ornaments worn by a woman. Himba women smear their bodies with a mixture of red ochre, butterfat and herbs. They still dress traditionally, wearing leather garments and a variety of ornaments made of leather with wood, ostrich shell and metal beads. The Himba are Herero-speaking Bantu nomads who live in the harsh, dry but starkly beautiful landscape of remote northwest Namibia.
