A victim of the Rwanda genocide who seemingly died in prayer. In April 1994, 27,000 people _ men, women and children - were murdered in the vicinity of an unfinished technical school at Murambi, close to Gikongoro, and were buried in mass graves. The bodies of 900 victims have been put on permanent display in bare classrooms. This gruesome memorial highlights the full horror of the slaughter and is a chilling reminder to Rwandans that such a violent and cruel 3-month period in their country's history must never be repeated.
