On a high mountain pass close to Lake Bujuku (12,900 feet), tree Senecios or Giant Groundsels grow against a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Stanley (16,763 feet), the highest mountain of the Rwenzori Range.The Rwenzori Mountain range is the only snow-covered range south of the Atlas Mountains in sub-Sahara Africa. It has a unique afro-montane vegetation due to a combination of altitude, high rainfall and almost constant cloud-cover with drenching mists.
