Liang Bua cave exploration. Archaeologist measuring fragments of flint found in earth from the Liang Bua Cave, Flores island, Indonesia, during archaeological excavations. This cave is the site of a discovery in 2003 of a potentially new species of human, named Homo floresiensis. The earth was washed and sieved to extract any fragments like this. Photographed in August 2007.
