Columbia River Gorge, Oregon, USA. This gorge, gouged from the rock by the Columbia River, is 130 kilometres long. The gorge passes through the mountains of the Cascade Range from the eastern side to the western (Pacific) side. It also forms part of the boundary between the State of Washington to the north and Oregon to the south. The gorge and its river are one of the main transport routes in the region.
