Apricots (Prunus armeniaca), historical artwork. These are 'De Nancy' apricots, an apricot cultivar that was first described near Nancy, France, in 1755. Two flowers are at upper right and upper left, and one of the peaches has been halved (lower centre) to reveal the central stone (drupe) that contains the seed. Artwork from a book published in 1768.
