X-ray of the foot of a 45 year old female patient who has suffered a stress fracture of the second metatarsal bone (at centre left) and this is now evident six weeks later. This type of broken foot, known also as a march fracture, is common in runners, ballet dancers and gymnasts as a sport injury.
