Parasitic wasp and spider in a tropical rainforest. The wasp has stung and paralysed a spider without killing it. It will draw its prey into its underground nest and lay an egg in the spider's body. The wasp larva will feed and grow in the spider's body until the spider dies and the wasp larva hatches. This parasitic behaviour is seen in the suborder Apocrita. Spiders are classified in the order Araneae. Photographed in Ecuador.
