Greater bladderwort (Utricularia vulgaris), light micrograph. This carnivorous plant traps small aquatic animals in its bladders (one seen at lower centre). As the animals decay the nutrients are absorbed by the plant. Magnification: x12 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
