Damaged blue coral. Close-up of blue coral (Heliopora coerulea) that has been broken by bumphead parrotfish (Bolbometopon muricatum) who feed on live corals as well as encrusting algae. Only the interior of the skeleton of Heliopora coral reveals the blue colour. This coral is a living fossil with a evolutionary age of more than 100 million years.
