Fritz Cohn (1866-1922), German astronomer. Cohn studied at Konigsberg and Berlin, working from 1891 at the Konigsberg Observatory (Konigsberg was then part of East Prussia and is now the Russian city of Kalingrad). Cohn's work was mostly involved with calculations involving the positions of stars, improving the accuracy of the equipment, and calibrating them to the local climatic conditions. From 1909, Cohn was director of the Astronomische Rechen-Institut, working on the orbits of asteroids and comets. He also worked on the publications Astronomische Jahresbericht and the Astronomisches Jahrbuch. Photograph published in 1933 in the US magazine Popular Astronomy.
