Australopithecus sediba. Artwork of the head of a juvenile male Australopithecus sediba hominid, which lived in Southern Africa around 1.8 million years ago. This species shares many features with early Homo species, more than any other Australopithecus species, leading to speculation that it could be a transitional species between the two.
