Canadian glacier. This is the terminal face of the glacier, with meltwater seen at lower left. Debris from rockfalls is seen on the surface of the glacier, and the ice is breaking up as it buckles under the stresses produced by melting and the weight of the ice. This is one of several glaciers that have retreated since the 19th century due to global warming. Photographed near the border between Alaska and Canada.
