Constellation of Argo, 16th century artwork. The text labels are in Latin. The artwork shows the ship of the band of Ancient Greek adventurers and explorers the Argonauts, the mythological representation of this ancient constellation, no longer in use. This artwork is from Theatrum mundi et temporis (1588) by the Italian astronomer and scholar Giovanni Paolo Gallucci (1538-1621). This star atlas of several volumes included artworks depicting the constellations. The title translates as 'Theatre of the World and Time'. This work was published in Venice.
