Professor Axel Kahn (born 1944), French doctor and geneticist. Kahn's roles include director of research at INSERM (the French national health and medical research institute), and director of the molecular genetics Cochin Institute. He is a member of the French national consultative committee on ethics. Kahn has written several books on genetics and ethics, and has made many contributions to public discussions on the science and ethics of subjects such as genetics, biotechnology, cloning and biomedicine.
