Siddick wind farm, United Kingdom. Newly completed Siddick wind farm, Cumbria, faces the onshore breeze generating electricity on coastal site that was a popular breeding / nesting site for birds such as oystercatchers. In 2005 Siddick and neighbouring Oldside wind farm nerar Workington, Cumbria wind farms generated enough renewable energy to supply over 5,000 homes, saving the emission of over 9,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide, 83 tonnes of sulphur dioxide and 27 tonnes of nitrous oxide. Turbines are 40m to the hub and generate 9.2 mw electricity.
