Loss of the Titanic. The Loss of the Titanic. Diagram to show the numbers of passengers and crew lost when the Titanic sank on April 15th, 1912. The figures are drawn from the official figures given in the House of Commons. The breakdown shows that of the First Class passengers, 115 men and 5 women died while 58 men, 139 women and 5 children survived. Of the Second Class Passengers, 147 and 15 women died while 13 men, 78 women and 24 children survived. Of the Third Class passengers, 399 men, 81 women and 53 children died while 55 men, 98 women and 23 children survived. 686 men and 2 women from the crew died and 189 men and 21 women survived. Titanic was built by Harland & Wolff in Belfast Ireland during 1910 - 1911 and sank after striking an iceberg off the coast of New Foundland during her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York, USA, with the loss of 1,522 passengers and crew.
