James Staats Forbes (1823-1904) English engineer and administrator who studied engineering with Isambard Kingdom Brunel. For many years manager of the London Chatham and Dover Railway. He is depicted riding two sea horses and carrying a trident on which is impaled a document labelled 'Channel Tunnel Scheme' and 'London Chatham and Dover Railway'.
