Hepatitis C virus enzyme. Molecular model of a genetic enzyme from the Hepatitis C virus. This enzyme is called HC-J4 RNA polymerase. An RNA polymerase is an enzyme that makes RNA (ribonucleic acid) from a DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) template. Hepatitis C is blood-borne virus that causes liver damage. The helical ribbons, arrows and sheets show the secondary structure (the shape of the enzyme).
