Tin chloride producing fumes, which is known as the fuming liquor of Libavius. The chemical is reacting with the moisture in the air to produce stannic acid. The vapour formed is corrosive to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. In extreme cases, it may cause lung oedema (swelling of the lung tissue).
