Telophase of cell mitosis. Image 6 of 6. Light micrograph of a bluebell cell (Endymion sp.) undergoing cell division (mitosis). A cell in the final stage of mitosis, known as telophase, is seen here. Individual chromosomes can be seen within the cell as orange structures which have congregated at either extremity of the cell. At telophase, the chromosomes lose their thread-like appearance and unfold, resembling their appearance earlier in mitosis (at interphase). Membranes will form around each congregation of chromosomes forming two genetically identical daughter" cells. Part of mitosis sequence, images B215/045 to B215/050."
