Wet grass leaves covered with water droplets. The typical parallel leaf veins of this monocot plant can be seen. Unwettable plant surfaces such as this, in which water readily slides off, are usually due to the presence of surface waxes. This resistance to wetting can present a problem for weed control; detergents are added to herbicide sprays in order to overcome it.
