The sequence of bases in specific parts of the DNA structure can influence overall body structure and susceptibility to some diseases as well as smaller details such as eye colour. The letters seen on either side of the DNA represent a base sequence along one helix in the strand (A=adenine, T=thymine, G=guanine, C=cytosine), related to the sequence in the other helix by Chargaff's Rule (A bonds to T, C bonds to G).
