DNA BioChip results. Computer screen display of the results of a BioChip DNA test. The DNA BioChip allows cheap and rapid simultaneous analyses for infectious organisms to be carried out on samples of food and blood. It consists of several tiny samples of DNA dotted on a glass slide. Different dots contain different types of DNA, each designed to bind to specific genes on the DNA of one of the organisms to be tested. The BioChip is scanned by a laser, which highlights the dots on which a reaction occurred, revealing the presence of the corresponding organism. The peaks here indicate positive test results.
