In theory, human cloning generates a person whose genetic material, or DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), is identical to that of another person. The process is potentially capable of producing a limitless number of genetically- identical people, by replacing DNA present in a human egg with the DNA of the person to be cloned. The autoradiograms depict DNA sequences. Each band (blue) represents a nucleotide, the building block of DNA. The sequence of nucleotides along a molecule makes up an individual's genetic code.
