A common fastener, velcro is a nylon material manufactured in two separate pieces, one with a surface consisting of loops, the other with a surface of hooks (shown here) which catch in the loops & fasten the two pieces together. The loops are loosely woven strands in an otherwise tight weave; the hooked surface is made by cutting the loops. Magnification: X 8 at 35mm size.
