Oliver Meckes (born 1963) was educated at the Institute of Scientific Photography, Germany and has worked for 9 years as an underwater photographer. In 1994, he set up Eye Of Science with Nicole Ottawa. Nicole Ottawa (born 1965) studied biology before working as a scientific photographer and electron microscopist. Eye Of Science started producing high-quality digital images of scanning electron micrographs in 1995. Photographed in 1996.
