Lymph gland cancer. Breast of a woman who has a cancer of the lymph glands, a malignant lymphoma. The lymphatic system is an important part of the immune system that protects the body from disease and infection. Spread of the cancer impairs this immune system, leading to death from infections. The prognosis is poor without an early diagnosis. Treatments with radiotherapy and chemotherapy will precede the last resort of transplanting new bone marrow.
