MODEL RELEASED. Dyslexia testing. Dyslexia, sometimes called word blindness, is a congenital or developmental disorder affecting a child's ability to read and write. It can create serious educational problems, but once identified can be treated effectively with specialist teaching. This girl is being assessed for dyslexia by an educational psychologist. A variety of tasks involving words, numbers and symbols are used to produce a 'profile', a unique pattern of strengths and weaknesses that is analysed for evidence of dyslexia.
