MODEL RELEASED. Urine analysis. A male general practice doctor measures the pH of a sample of human urine. The doctor is holding a strip of pH paper which he has dipped into the urine sample. He is comparing this with pH standards. A pH test indicates the acidity of the urine sample. A typical urine sample will undergo several routine tests known as urinalysis. Any physical or chemical abnormalities in a patient's urine may be a symptom of an underlying disorder. For example, excessive glucose in the urine usually indicates diabetes mellitus.
