False-colour transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of 2 human lyphocytes cells that have just been formed by mitotic cell division (ie where 2 daughter cells with equal & identical chromosomes are produced). Telophase (last stage of mitosis) is complete; the nuclear envelopes of the daughter cells have reformed (nuclear material - chromatin, is coloured pink). The 2 newly-formed lymphocytes have separate cytoplasms (green), each containing a no. of mitochondria (pink - the site of energy production & storage within cell). Magnification: X 2200 at 35mm size.
