MODEL RELEASED. Ramblers on a stone bridge. This is High Sweden Bridge, an old stone bridge over Scandale Beck, near Ambleside, Lake District National Park, Cumbria, England. The bridge, which is around 300 years old, was built for packhorses to cross the river. It has no parapet, and is an example of an arch bridge, where the stone blocks are shaped and angled so that they lock together under their own weight.
