Capoeira. Men practicing capoeira, a martial art developed in Brazil during the 16th century. It incorporates music, song and dance-like movements, supposedly because the African slaves who developed it wished to disguise their fighting practice as a form of dance. Capoeira involves kicks, sweeps and acrobatic movements. Practitioners regard it more as a game than a fighting technique.
