Wearable computing. Lizzy (blue), a belt-mounted portable computer, linked to a Private Eye liquid crystal visual display unit which is mounted on a pair of glasses. Lizzy's processor is similar to that found in a personal computer. Data can be en- tered through hand-held devices, microphones, cam- eras or other devices attached to the wearer's body or clothing. It can also access the internet using a radio link. Lightweight batteries supply Lizzy with power for about 10 hours. Such wear- able computers" can constantly provide the wearer with information and may soon be used in a variety of practical applications. Lizzy was developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA."
