Cork Harbour. 19th-century artwork of part of Cork Harbour, a natural harbour and estuary on the coast of County Cork, Ireland. This view looks south from the town of Cobh (then Queenstown), on the southern shore of Great Island. At far left is the Roches Point lighthouse at the harbour exit. At centre left is Fort Westmoreland on Spike Island. On the headland behind Spike Island is Fort Camden. At centre is Haulbowline island. Numerous sailing ships and paddle steamers are in the bay. Named buildings include the emigration offices of Cunard Line. The Titanic called at Queenstown (Cobh) on its maiden voyage in 1912. This 1872 artwork is by J. Brenann.
