Infraorbital nerve block. Artwork of a syringe being used to inject a local anaesthetic to numb the infraorbital nerve, a procedure known as a nerve block. This nerve provides sensation for the lower eyelid, upper lip, and part of the nasal vestibule. This nerve block allows minor surgery to be carried out on the area between the lower eyelid and the upper lip. Here the injection is being applied through the infraorbital foramen, through the gum next to the upper premolars.
